My JET Journey

Last night, Aug. 12, 2010, was my town's fireworks. There was a concert stage for performers, food stands, and fireworks all along the beach. All the food looked soooo goooood. See for yourself :)

Tonight was Tanabe's Yaya Matsuri! It's like a Town Day where the streets are closed off to have games, performances and food stands everywhere. The point is to encourage business and commerce :)

I also got to experience my first bike ride home at NIGHT! It was a bit scary, but I survived.

Hello everyone! I would first like to say thank you for being so patient! I am finally updating my blog and I am also FINALLY in Japan :D

I made it through JET 2010 Tokyo Orientation and have finally settled into my new home in Tanabe. I have to say, although it's been a pretty stressful and overwhelming week I have a very very good feeling that I am going to fall in love with my hew town. Tanabe is just enough city so I don't go insane, but still rural so that the lifestyle isn't busy and everyone is just happy and nice!
